چکیده

Reinforced concrete, RC beams subjected to shear failure which is the most unwanted mode due speed progress studied numerically. Therefore, effective design of necessary because sudden types these in shear. The minimum reinforcement ratio must be provided around longitudinal rebars. Thus, stirrups with different patterns have a significant benefit for improving beam. In this paper, performance specimens spiral using ANSYS programs investigated by comparing them conventional beams. One statement on experimental results has been obtained from previous research Karayannis et al. [17]. behaviors are compared finite element analysis identical It found that beam comparison numerical slightly different. Based FE analysis, strength demonstrated mean accuracy and standard deviation about 0.994 0.028, respectively, test. Furthermore, curve determined consistent experiment data. give knowledge importance beam, method among cases.

Can Stirrups Suppress Size Effect on Shear Strength of RC Beams?

This paper demonstrates the size effect on the shear strength of reinforced concrete (RC) beams with stirrups and does so in two separate and independent ways: (1) by fracture mechanics, based on finite-element analysis calibrated by a large beam test; and (2) by purely statistical analysis in which a newly assembled database of 234 tests is filtered to eliminate spurious size effects caused by...

Experimental and Theoretical Investigation on Shear Strengthening of RC Precraced Continuous T-beams Using CFRP Strips

Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets are externally bonded to reinforced concrete (RC) members to provide additional strength such as flexural, shear, etc. It has been widely accepted that carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRPs) can be used effectively to strengthen reinforced concrete (RC) members. This paper is intended to study and use externally bonded CFRP strips to repair and st...

Strut-and-Tie Method for Prediction of Ultimate Shear Capacity of Shear-Strengthened RC deep beams with FRP

The main objective of this study is to propose the Strut-and-Tie method (STM) to predict the shear capacity of simply supported RC deep beams shear-strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP). It is assumed that, the total carried shear force by shear-strengthened RC deep beam provided by three independent resistance, namely diagonal concrete strut due to Strut-and-tie mechanism, ...
